USDA Rural Development will provide a subsidy for his mortgage loan, to lower the interest rate to 1%. With the Homeownership Coalition providing $10,000 in down payment and closing cost assistance from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLB), his total monthly mortgage payment for his $39,000 home will only be $180.00!
